Show more destination. It was simply because my visa had expired and I had to leave Russia, and I did not want to return to Hong Kong immediately.
In the early morning of May 5, 2023, I arrived in Lisbon by flight from Rome, which meant that I crossed the Eurasian continent, going from the west coast of the Pacific Ocean to the east coast of the Atlantic (my westernmost point is Cascais). The Atlantic Ocean appeared before my eyes, with the waves crashing against the cliffs.
But in fact at that moment, I was in a very complicated mood. After my credit card was hacked in Slovenia and my mobile phone was robbed in Italy, my travel mood was greatly affected. I had to find ways to use cash to solve the problems of food, clothing, accommodation and transportation every day, my brain began to overload. I was not fully enjoying it, I continued simply because I didn't want to give up before using all the solutions.
Now the year has come to an end, and I finally have the mood to think about my journey. Last week, I reconnected with the Hong Kong couple I met in Turkey and told them about the series of events after I separated with them, how I made it to Portugal, Spain, back to Bulgaria, how I started learning Turkish and Italian, and how I returned to Hong Kong. They said I can probably write several books about my trip.
