Brown, along with The Brilliancy, produced the debut release for the band, a six song self-titled EP that sounds very much like a modernized version of the Eagles. The foundation of the EP, and The Brilliancy in general, is a dedication to song writing. When described by fans, the words, “song rock” are common place and the first single, “With You” made the top five songs of the month by Songwriter Universe. The sonic landscape is warm and inviting but electrified with energy that asks, “why can’t a pop hook be sung over real guitars and drums?” Their songs radiate with positive energy and are well articulated through the sincere lyrical work of singer Austen Leadley. What he writes – he means. There is no hiding behind pretense or nonsensical metaphor. Lead guitarist Brendan Friel states, “we’re tired of being affected by negative thoughts and energies and I feel like we are not alone in that. This EP and The Brilliancy as a whole is about finding life’s positive and inspiring moments, capturing them, and then sharing them with our audience.” “Chemistry is not something that can be artificially manufactured. The most successful bands in history have that indescribable connection that makes them special. This certainly holds true for Windsor group, The Brilliancy. Together for nine years, their passion and talent make them destined for greatness,” says Windsor Life Magazine about the band’s live show. Growing up together in southern Ontario, Canada, The Brilliancy members share a tight bond that is evident on stage. The Brilliancy’s three part harmonies are paralleled by a contagious harmony between the members themselves that spreads to everyone who comes out to experience them. Drummer Rob Raco comments, “The Brilliancy is more than our name. It is the essence of what we try to capture in our music and our live show.”
